Whitney Elizabeth Houston was born into a musical family on August 9, 1963, in Newark, New Jersey. As a young child she began singing in the church choir, and by the age of 15 she was singing backup vocals professionally with her mother on Chaka Khan's 1978 hit, 'I'm Every Woman'. Her featured vocals in the New York-based funk band, Material, is what attracted Arista Records, whom she signed with in 1983, and where she stayed for the rest of her career.
In 1985 her debut album, 'Whitney Houston', was released, and became the biggest-selling album by a debut artist with several hit singles, including 'Saving All My Love For You', 'How Will I Know', 'You Give Good Love', and 'The Greatest Love of All'. Her 1987 follow-up album, 'Whitney', included the hits 'Where Do Broken Hearts Go' and 'I Wanna Dance With Somebody', and furthered her success, but it was the 1992 film The Bodyguard that sealed her place as one of the best-selling artists of all time. The soundtrack album and her cover of 'I Will Always Love You' topped the singles and albums charts, and sold more than 44 million copies around the world. She continued to release albums including 'My Love is Your Love', 'Just Whitney' and 'I Look To You', but unfortunately her time was cut short, and she was found dead in a Beverly Hills hotel room on 11 February 2012. Over the course of her career, Houston won 415 awards, some of which include 2 Emmy Awards, 6 Grammy Awards, 16 Billboard Music Awards, 22 American Music Awards, and her music will live on forever.
A feminine version of the muscle tank, this women’s flowy scoop neck tank top is a must-have style, designed with our exceptionally soft poly-viscose fabrication that softly drapes around curves. The modern elongated armholes and curved bottom hem make it perfect for layering.
